LESSONS are on a weekly basis from January to December and usually keep the same time and day each week during the school year. Summer schedules usually change. Lessons are encouraged for students to stay consistent. Lessons are 30 mins long at a reasonable fee. They are taught in my studio and by skype. Payments are due at the beginning of every month. I accept cash or check only. All Parents/Students must provide a 24 hour notice for cancellation, or the lesson is forfeited. Cancellations by phone only. No shows are automatically forfeited. If there is a need for me to cancel, I will try to reschedule. If this is not possible, payment will be forwarded to the next month. I do not teach on Major Holidays. Please inquire within. Communication is the key.
MATERIALS necessary for lessons are a drum pad, sticks, a metronome , a music stand , proper mallets ( if needed), a spiral note book and method books. A drum set is not always required for younger students. Instruments during the lessons are supplied in my studio. One must have all materials if done by skype.
PRACTICE One must practice to learn. With a 30 min lesson one must practice at least a half hour 5 days a week. If your child has a busy schedule, 15 minutes a day is better than none. Please encourage your child to practice. This is the only way progress can be made. It is a gift your child will never loose and will enjoy and share for the rest of their lives.
The Elements for Percussion is the building block book for building ones rudimental skills and rhythmic reading. The Fills for drum set book helps one learn to create fills, phrases and solos. Inquiries may email or call for details.
